My Brother Back in Lebanon
With uncertainty and fear and hopelessness
he sits in his house uncomfortably
he is bewildered everyone can see
my brother back in Lebanon his children so innocent so charming
gaze at their father in despair
watching them so unprotected; he cries
my brother back in Lebanon jets roaring over his head, he waits for a blast
waits for another menacing sound
for a roof to collapse under the weight of a bomb
my brother back in Lebanon the burning buildings around his house
wounded people crying in pain
he mourns at the turmoil that has engulfed his countrymen
my brother back in Lebanon such bullism and injustice by Israel
no one is there to stop it!
Seeing the similarity between Hitler and Israel; he sighs
my brother back in Lebanon the world, the UN, President Bush
blinded are they all?
Support such genocide how can they? he wonders
my brother back in Lebanon he cries, he weeps; no one hears his pleas
anger and frustration he feels
but what can he do when the world is with the tyrant he cogitates
my brother back in Lebanon still hopeless he calls his children to give them one last hug
he knows the end is near
a bomb lands on his house; oh yes his dead
my brother back in Lebanon
